Location: 35 00 58.00 N, 85 35 46.00 W – Anchorage – Little Cedar Mountain


It was a stormy day today for our run to Carolyn and Mac’s first anchorage. Getting there required Carolyn and Mary to get soaked where we had a major downpour in the Nickajack lock. The crew is getting plenty of lock-thru experience. This lock had a 39 ft lift.

The anchorage was quiet, isolated and beautiful. Birds were chirping in the nearby forest. We sat on the bow for a while to soak it all in and took some time to become comfortable with the anchor’s hold on the bottom. We tried to make a few phone calls and had mixed success. We found our position was a partial dead zone. We turned on the anchor light and settled in for the evening. We found a mystery collection of classic DVDs and watched an old movie starring Ray Milland – Bulldog Drummond Escapes. (1930 Vintage in B&W).


Morning brought a heavy mist with low lying clouds hugging the Tennessee Mountains surrounding our anchorage.
