Location: 30.30’07.08N/86.26’33.28W Rocky Bayou Anchorage – about 8 miles northeast of Destin, FL
We left Panama City around 8:30 AM to travel about 55 miles to the Destin area. The ride today was calm and Persistence did a fine job. We hit something along the way in 15 ft of water. It was most likely a piece of wood or other partially submerged debris. We didn’t see it but it sure got our attention. A thorough check of the bilge and a vibration check indicated no obvious damage. In the anchorage Tom considered taking a dive to check the props and then decided it was not necessary.
Mary spent much of the day working on crossword puzzles and watching an occasional dolphin playing in our wake. It was a nice ride. Tomorrow, we will head to Pensacola.

Glad to hear you are having a wonderful trip. Tomorrow we head out to the keys and the Dry Tortugas with the Wills. First night out, we will anchor in Shark River, or as Mary and I call it, Snake River, and as Phil calls it, Mosquito River. Then on to Hawks Cay at Duck Key. Good Cruising.
